Smaggle on custom sunglasses

Is it just my guys or are all men unnaturally obsessed with Top Gun? Specifically Maverick? And owning any or all of his signature items – a motorbike, leather jacket or aviator sunglasses?

My man’s brother needed new sunglasses and naturally he wanted aviators. You know, so if he ever needed to fly a plane he could. Obviously. After the success that I had shopping online for sunglasses last time I decided to try it again.

The brother wanted something a little bit different and after doing some research we found this amazing store that sells custom aviators. Perfect. Randolph is the sole supplier of sunglasses to NASA’s astronauts and USA top gun pilots. They also sell to Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp. Don Draper is also a (fictional) fan. I’m quite worried about the wearer of such sunglasses self combusting from coolness.

You can choose the colour and finish on both the frames and the lenses. They also recommend measuring your face so you can choose the correct fit from their variety of sizes.

Despite the fantastic product I have to say that I wasn’t overly impressed with the service. The sunglasses were ordered for around $150 including postage on 15th December 2010. After fourteen emails to Randolph they finally arrived on 9th February 2011. They also promised me a $50 refund which I never received. Needless say I’m feeling rather neutral about the whole experience.

Another strange thing about this store is that when I tried to get the web link Google wouldn’t let me visit the site saying that it may harm my computer. I don’t know what is going on but I’ve supplied the US store link and I know their product is identical and I have it on good authority that their service is great too.

Most of us would have bought custom clothing online before but has anyone every bought custom eyewear? How did you find it? Any ladies out there planning on whipping out the credit card for their man on these babies?
