Super Kawaii Mama: Mr Sandman Bring Me a Dream

There is one thing I am lusting after this Christmas more than anything else. It doesn’t come in a box and doesn’t have to be wrapped in a ribbon. It doesn’t have to cost much at all, but to me right now it is priceless. It is the gift of sleep.

I’ve fallen into the trap over overworking and, truth be told, partying a bit too hard, that sleep has become a secondary consideration; and now it is all catching up with me. I knew I was in serious trouble when my usual sanctuary of goose down had become a crumpled mess and I didn’t even bother to find the pillow cases that matched my sheets. It may not sound like much to some, but for me this is an indictor that things have gone too far and intervention time is imminent.

First stop on the sleep train is to pick up one new and luxurious companion to wrap myself in. The Showgirl night dress by Samantha Sultana is a beautiful piece of hand work in French satin. It also happens to be worn by Priscilla Presley and we know how she feels about what goes on in the bedroom.

Looking about for the perfect pair of bedroom slippers wasn’t going to be too hard. I knew they had to have a heel and a bit of fluff (like all good glamour girls should have), but what I found took bunny slippers to a whole new level! By Streetzie, these are high heeled bunny slippers! Glam, fluffy bunnies? – Oh my!

I’m not much of a fan of pyjamas, unless they are the cashmere lounging variety, so I’ll admit I’ve never stopped by Peter Alexander’s webstore. But as I am impatient and know that he ships from Australia (as does Samantha Sultana), I decided to give it a look in. There are loads of cute designs to choose from including ponies, but most are just too casual for my hyper glam tendencies. That is until I found this stunning lace backed, pure silk, pink and black nightgown. This ought to go perfectly with those black bunny slippers and sweeping Samantha Sultana gown.

In an effort to improve my relaxation quotient, I went hunting for my favourite fragrance in candle form. Tobacco, I simply love the deep masculine smell it has. Tokyo Milk has Poe’s Tobacco that has notes of Tobac, Tea Leaves, Amberwood and Autumn Apple. Even just reading that description makes my shoulders drop and back begin to un-knot.

I think I may just be prepared to hit those sheets now, although having someone to come and sing me to sleep would be the icing on the cake. I wonder if Michael Buble takes Paypal?
