Smaggle asks: To Frye? Or not to frye?

Over the past few weeks I’ve been dolling out advice about shopping online but to be honest I haven’t been that brave in my purchasing. I’ve employed a strict no-zips clothing policy, I’ve only bought shoes from brands that I’m familiar with and a smattering of home wares like mugs and tea canisters. Incredibly safe items and, as planned, I haven’t had a disappointment yet.

The problem I’m facing today is that I want Frye boots. What are Frye boots you ask? Any American fashion blogger worth her weight in Modcloth sponsorship knows about Frye boots. They are quite delicious but we all know that boot buying is difficult. It’s in the same category as jeans and swimmers. Can I really buy my perfect boots online? Without even trying them on? Without having owned and loved a previous pair?

Obviously the Frye company don’t ship to Australia. The manufacturers rarely do. After many cups of tea and computer scrolling headaches I’ve decided that IF I choose to buy Fryes online I will be using shopbop. They have free worldwide shipping on orders over $100 and they also accept international returns. So far, so good.

I’ve also used several different online sizing guides and I’ve figured out that the best option is to order in my normal Australian/European size. So…

Basically I need you to egg me on okay? I’m going to need a lot of people to tell me that the Veronica slouch boots are totally rockin’ and that I’m a mega sooky la la and considering the unusually flexible shipping and returns policies I should buy them. Okay go!

If anyone owns Frye boots any additional information would be grand!
