Smaggle finds the shoe bargain of the century

I have a friend who is addicted to Camper shoes. When she told me this I laughed her. I’m all, aren’t they like chemist shoes? Let me tell you, not for shiz. They are designed for walking or camping… der… but the company have branched out recently to make dressier sandals with heels. Problem is, they are hideously expensive in Australia. At around $300 a pair in store it’s too much for frugal lil’ me and honestly I haven’t been that tickled by their stock recently. That was until I met the Damas summer sandal.  It’s like the American flag had a quickie with a geisha clog and formed an awesome shoe baby. They had to be mine. I went on a mission.

The US online store doesn’t ship to Australia, or sell sandals in their Northern Winter. Fair enough. Also I don’t speak Spanish so trying to order them from the online store whose warehouse is in Spain was a foolishly optimistic move. I then Googled the model number and name. Genius. It led me straight to Amazon where I found my sandals in three different colour combinations for $80 including couriered postage to Australia. I ordered them on a Wednesday and the predicted arrival date was the following Monday but I wasn’t holding my breathe, it just seemed too good to be true. Get this – they arrived two days later on the Friday morning. It’s companies like this that give me unreasonable postage expectations.

Oh and Camper shoes are the same size in America as in Australia. Handy. They are also amazingly comfortable. I haven’t had them off my feet since they arrived. Perfection.
