Smaggle on the pros and cons of PinkLilly
Posted by lustable in home & living, shoes, smaggle
What woman doesn’t love shoes? And consequently, clear shoe storage boxes? I’ve seen several different versions of these on the market and most of them are incredibly overpriced so I was delighted when I stumbled upon PinkLilly who have a variety of sizes available for very reasonable prices.
I bought their Huge Pack of 15 shoeboxes for $65, which equals around $4 per box. I also bought a few Mini Lillies for accessories, a Perspex folding template and a few cable cord ties.
The good news -
I placed my order last Wednesday and the package was delivered on Friday. Super speedy and reasonably priced shipping at a $15 flat rate.
The boxes are sturdy and well made. They also arrived flat packed with easy instructions on how to put them together.
The bad news -
The boxes have WWW.PINKLILLY.COM.AU emblazoned across the top in embossed bold script. Thankfully the writing is transparent so it’s not too offensive but I feel that this should be photographed on the site and mentioned in the description. Blatant branding on products is something that I despise and had I been aware of it on these boxes I would not have bought them.
My folding template did not come with instructions so the only clue I have on how to use it is a few stop motion photos on their site.
They have a free gift offer of a sparkly Christmas stocking that you receive if you spend over $75. As lovely as the offer is, I have absolutely no use for it so I wrote to them and asked them not to send me one. So they sent me a mouse pad. Again, I really don’t want to sound ungrateful but I feel that they should have honoured my request to not be sent any of their promotional material. They already splashed their brand name across all the products that I actually paid for, I really don’t need everything in my house to be screaming PINKLILLY at me.
In all fairness the boxes are great, reasonably priced, well made and will stack beautifully in my OCD cupboards. Payments, shipping and customer service were all impeccable. They just need to be a little clearer in their descriptions of their stock and they really need to calm down on the self-advertising.
What about you? Have you ever bought something not realising that the company has drowned it in its own brand name? Does this bother anyone else? What brands of clear shoeboxes have you tried?
